Assam Livestock Development Agency was registered under Society Act as per guide lines given by the National Project on Cattle and Buffalo Breeding, Govt. Of India,. This agency under NPCBB has been involved in the supply of genetic material to the participating agencies. Assam Livestock Development Agency (ALDA) started functioning in the state from the year 2004 , successfully completed NPCBB Phase – I and started implementing Phase – II which is still going on. During the process ALDA expanded the AI network to the entire state as per the guideline of NPCBB and achieved considerable progress in terms of A.I. coverage and semen production. Under NPCBB Phase – II the state also established one state of the art Frozen semen Bull Station at Barapetta to cater to the needs of state’s own breeding network expansion.
